It was primarly started by avid 'Gerry's Gurl' E/C shippers who used the basis for "Il Muto" (that the Countess would be unfaithful to her husband) as proof that Christine would never stay with Raoul, and validation for their sup...

I think he 'borrowed' from the opera's wardrobe and sewing departments (he would have had access to fabrics, trims�you name it) then created a gown just for Christine.

I think he had designed costumes and was observant enough to have learned garment construction and design. I also think that he would have created something out of the ordinary and not typical of the fashions of that era.

While I have to admit history was definitely not my favorite subject when I was young, nowadays I do find some things quite interesting. My favorites are Japanese history and culture, ancient Egyptian history and culture -- especially the Pharaohs in general and the life of Cleopatra -- and the history and culture of ancient Greece, especially their myths.
